As part of the 16-days-of-activism against Gender-based Violence Annual International Campaign, the Commission of Domestic Violence in Malta has set up a photographic exhibition by locally based photographers, calling for the awareness, prevention, and elimination of violence against women and girls.

We are proud that our team at Communiqué was responsible for organising the call and set up of this exhibition, which kicked off on the 25th November 2020, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Woman, and runs until the 10th December, Human Rights Day, at the City Gate, Triton Fountain Square in Valletta.

As the world retreated inside homes due to the measures introduced to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, reports showed an alarming increase in the already existing pandemic of violence against women. At Communiqué, we believe that we can all make a difference during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by giving support to women and girl survivors of violence to stay safe and free of violence, supporting calls for actions to increase awareness, galvanize advocacy efforts, and share knowledge and innovations.

Being involved in projects such as this is key to our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, and we continue to encourage victims of domestic violence to find the courage to seek help. Living at home shouldn’t mean at risk, women can always reach out and call the support line 179.
